Self-Care Information

To get the most out of your MFR treatment, you need to learn and practice myofascial self-care at home. It’s important, however, that you know how to safely release your own fascia in-between MFR treatments.

Just as in JFB-MFR, there are no set treatment protocols in myofascial self-care because every body and each set of restrictions is different. As part of your MFR sessions, you'll learn basic techniques and the proper use of self-treatment tools to suit your individual needs.

The goal is for you to have the tools to treat yourself now and in the future. Your self-care needs will change as you heal and live your life, so we don't merely give you a protocol to follow. You will learn HOW to apply the principles of MFR in your self-treatment so you can address fascial restrictions anywhere in your body. You'll find that with practice, your body will show you WHERE to treat.

Much of the information on treating fascia is wrong, and some of the tools are even harmful. We follow the principles of John F. Barnes' MFR, so the treatment methods and tools we use are gentle on the tissue, and we never use force. (This means no aggressive foam rolling, lacrosse balls, or blasting of your fascia!)

Schedule a session to learn more about the right way to take care of your fascia and check back here in the future for further information.
